On the first day of Hanukkah, the celebration of light in the midst of the darkest days
of the year, we gathered to celebrate the inauguration of the first All Nations Café
Participants came from different nations and from three sister religions: Islam, Christianity
and Judaism. We had enthusiastic Israelis, Palestinians, Arab Israelis, many
beautiful Germans and Americans, and wonderful people from Czech Republic,
West Africa and South America.
We had a tri-lingual live concert by Musicians for Peace with Jewish,
Arab and German musicians who volunteered their services (you can hear them now in the
background). The audience joined in the singing and dancing and the energy went up high to the sky.
We lit the Hanukkah candles, symbolizing the small light that dispels all darkness. We also
held an energy circle and a blessing for peace for all nations and for the All
Nations Celebrations to spread all over the world. Middle Eastern food
(falafel), raw food (ReekaSalad) and special drinks (Magic Sakhleb, Turkish
Coffee and Herbal Teas) were served free of charge to every guest. They were made by a team including
a Muslim Sheik and his four kids, two Palestinian families from the Mount of
Olives, a German chef and Israeli Jews.
We wish to thank God and to thank everybody who
helped clean, drive, carry, decorate, prepare, feed, finance, sing, play and all
of you who made this event possible. We Love You !!
Hope to see you next month at the All Nations Celebration.
